Twin Updates

I have a sister who every now and then does an update about what her two daughters are currently like and the sweet & silly things they do. I love that idea! I think it is a great way to remember your little ones and thought I would give it a try!! As it is I feel I have already forgotten things in the short time they have been part of our lives.

They are 9 weeks old and already they have changed SO much in the few weeks since their birth. They have already almost doubled their weight.. Making them the size of an average newborn (which seems huge after the 4lbs they were)! They have begun cooing which is the sweetest sound. I love to just sit and listen. They are more alert and are starting to smile when I play with them which I absolutely love!! They aren't just "fart" smiles anymore! I cannot wait to be able to hear  and make them laugh!

Colten is a momma's boy. He loves to snuggle with me anytime of day. I tease Marty that we need to switch boys sometimes or we might create a momma's and daddy's boy but he didn't seem to think it'd happen. Even though our boys are identical I am hearing more and more that Colt looks like me! He makes the cutest/funniest faces and I get many laughs from him. Colt has had a few scary bouts of reflux in which he turns bright red and stops breathing all together. I was completely alone the first time it happened and about scared me to death! I seriously questioned how long I should give him before calling 911. 

Carter is a daddy's boy! I love to wake up in the morning and see Marty snuggled up close to one of our sons's (usually Carter). It is such a precious moment to wake up to. Carter looks more like daddy. He has a thin face with a slightly longer forehead than Colt. He does however have my facial expressions as well. I guess if he can't look like me its ok if he has my facial expressions ;)  I get plenty of laughs and smiles from him too. Carter loves the swing! If he is being fussy or is getting sleepy we will put him in the swing with some music playing and he loves it! 

Carter was pretty worn out.. 

 Our boys will switch their personalities/fussiness/happiness at any moment so you never know what's coming.. Next week Carter could be a mommy's boy and Colt a daddy's boy. They don't always enjoy bath time but they love after the bath! I wrap them up with their binki's and a beanie and they usually go right to sleep for me. They love to listen to music. It also puts them to sleep.. Usually. Our boys absolutely love to be held. There are times when the boys will just cry because all they want is to be held. Sometimes if one starts crying the other one will too. They have figured out that they might miss out on attention. Or at least I think that's what they've figured out. It is crazy how much alike they are! They have the exact same cry at times. They will make the same sounds at the same exact time (hiccups) and even sleep in the same positions.

Having twin boys can be overwhelming at times to say the least and we know it's just the beginning. However, they bring us so much joy and happiness and make it all worth it!! We love Colten and Carter SO much.
