Our 1st of many Thanksgivings

This year for Thanksgiving we had planned on spending it with my family and then we would spend Christmas with the Larsen's. Fortunately for us we live so close to both families that we were able to spend time with both! Debbie had invited us to their thanksgiving meal because cousin Bry was going to join them but he ended up spending it with family. So Marty and I enjoyed two delicious meals with great company on Thanksgiving Day. Our first meal was at the Larsen's around noon. The Romney's and Jensen's were with their in-laws and we missed them but we still enjoyed spending some time with everyone else.

A little later in the day, around 3 pm, we met up with my mom for our second meal of the day. It wasn't the traditional meal this year. Marty had never experienced anything like it before. We went to Golden Corral. When we arrived there was a little bit of a line and we were of course stuck waiting. It wasn't too bad and we were able to visit with some of the random strangers in line. The rest of our family (grandparents) arrived and we had an enjoyable meal. One of the best parts: NO clean up. :)

My brothers went to Vegas to spend some time with my dad, his wife Kim and her family. Marty had to work at 5 pm on Thanksgiving and I was not going to spend the day (our first one as newlyweds) without him. My dad and Kim had planned for some family photos on Friday morning at 9 am. Marty had worked until 2 am the night before and I felt so bad waking him up but I needed to in order for us to make it for the family photos. We hopped in the car and drove quickly down to Henderson arriving just a few minutes late. We spent part of the day with everyone there and after photos we all went bowling. It was fun and competitive. It was nice to be with everyone. Right after bowling we headed for home so that Marty would make it back in time for his 5 pm shift yet again this holiday.

Saturday Marty had the day off and we made one more trip of moving things from the old apartment to our new home. At about 2 pm we headed over to Larsen's to join them for their traditional hike of Angel's Landing in Zion National Park. I wasn't sure how far I would make it but I thought I'd at least make an attempt. I took my heart rate monitor to help me try and keep my heart rate in check.. It was tough though. We mostly hiked together until scouts lookout. After that Debbie stuck with me and Gordon, Marty, and Eric attacked the upper section of the hike at a faster pace. Debbie and I decided to try it and just see how far we'd get. Surprisingly enough we made it to the top (just as the boys were about to head back down)!! I was rather happy that I had made it and I surprised the boys I do believe. I also received a lot of comments about being pregnant and hiking this particular hike. I'm just grateful people could tell I was pregnant and not "chubby". :)  It was a fantastic holiday and I am looking forward to our Christmas break!
