Our First Outing

About 2 weekends ago Marty and I both had a few days off together and decided we needed to do something as a family. This is the first outing we have tried with the boys. We decide to take them to Bryce Canyon on a small day trip. Marty surprisingly hasn't ever been there?! Who would've thought? ;) Colten & Carter both did great on the drive. I ended up sitting in the back seat most of the way just to entertain Colt. He was so happy and wanted to play most of the drive. He finally got sleepy on me about an hour and fifteen minutes into the drive. Carter slept the entire way. After stopping in Panguitch to grab lunch at a Subway (and a few other detours-that's another story in itself..) we stopped by the library and ate lunch. It was nice to get a break from the car.

Colt showing me his football!
I guess I wore Carter Bug out.. Toys in hand and all.

Dad alone in the front (our chauffeur ;))
Our first stop in Bryce Canyon was at the lodge. There were quite a lot of people there but we didn't mind. We wandered through one of their main rooms that show all the animals that live in or near Bryce along with a lot of other cool features that Bryce has to offer. We feed the boys on the lawn outside of the lodge and then loaded up to try and do a little hiking. Unfortunately, the hiking didn't go so well.. Even though both boys had slept quite a bit they were ready to sleep some more. Just as we unloaded them from the car they both got extremely fussy. We felt as if everyone was staring at us.. Not a very wanted feeling in that situation.. Marty ended up going to check the view out himself while I stayed with the boys. Shockingly they fell right to sleep. I could hardly believe it.

Play time!
Gorgeous view..

Our sleepy little guys didn't stop us.
It was a short walk to the lookout!
Then the rain came..
They were worn out!!
It was a fun quick little day trip for us. I don't know that the boys would've done well with a few days of it. They can be a little tough when they aren't in their normal environment. They are so fun though! They are continuing to get bigger and bigger way too quickly!! They are now 4 1/2 months and we can hardly believe where the time has  gone. We are so grateful for them and love them more than anything!!
