California Lovin'

Ten days ago Marty, I, and the boys were off to California. We felt we needed a little vacation and thought going down to see some family (Taylor, Heather, Will, Emma, Grandpa Quaife, and Grandma Bev) would be perfect! Unfortunately, due to moving we haven't had internet for 10 days and I haven't been able to upload our photos but it's working now! Finally. It's amazing how much we actually need/take advantage of the internet in our everyday lives..

We left early Tuesday morning. Marty and I were both unsure how the boys would do traveling so far but besides Carter's crying (due to being ready for a nap and a possible headache from hitting his head that morning) from here to Vegas the boys were pleasant! They were great at reading a book or playing with toys. They took an extra liking to their binki's as well. I caught a picture of both of our boys asleep with a book open in their laps! Both at separate times and in the same chair.. Must be one comfortable carseat. :)

We got to Thousand Oaks and checked in to our hotel then went over to the California Estify office to check it out and meet everyone. After that we went to Taylor & Heather's house and ended up going to dinner at a restaurant called BJ's. The boys were tough but I really enjoyed going out to dinner. Marty would definitely not agree with me..

The next morning we woke up and went to the beach!! The closest one that Taylor & Heather usually go to is in Malibu called Zuma. We knew we wouldn't last long with all the little ones and it worked best for us to go in the morning so thanks to "June Gloom" it was pretty cloudy at first but it burned off and we enjoyed some rays.

One more.. I like them both.

Daddy decided he wanted to go for a little run and came back with tar all over the bottom of his feet. :( Occasionally it happens I guess. It was really annoying to Marty. The bottom of his feet were so sticky.

We enjoyed lunch later at The Habit, spent a little more time with Heather, Will, and Emma (Taylor went to work) and then headed off for Long Beach. It was a lot of fun to spend time in California with Taylor and Heather and their family. We wish we could've stayed longer! Of course the 405 was ridiculous.. Our GPS estimated 1.5 hours and it ended up taking 2.5 hours with all the traffic. Fortunately, Colten and Carter did pretty well for the extra hour of waiting. They were getting pretty tired of being in the car though. My left arm actually was irritated from reaching back so often.
Our first time picking oranges with Grandpa Quaife & Daddy.
We picked our first oranges with Grandpa Quaife's help of course and he turned on the hot tub so we could get in and play! They had a ball exploring new places and opening every cabinet in the house! We are so glad we got to see Grandpa Quaife and Grandma Bev. I know Grandpa has a few more pictures that I hope to get from him.

We had a lot of fun and all really enjoyed our quick little trip! Can't wait for more trips in the future. :)
