Hospital Stay

About a week ago Thursday my father was in a lot of pain and went to the Instacare in Las Vegas for relief. They diagnosed him with a bladder infection and sent him home with some pain meds and an antibiotic. The next day he still wasn't keeping anything down or drinking but was feeling better. With that I assumed that my Dad was slowly recovering and hadn't checked in with him. A week after his Instacare visit he was extremely dehydrated, delirious, and still in pain. His wife, Kim, took him the the Emergency Room in Las Vegas to figure out what was going on. They had quite a night at the ER in the waiting room, triage, and then finally were admitted. It turns out he had two kidney stones and his left kidney was only functioning at 19% of what it should have been. One of his kidney stones was 4mm and the other was 7 mm. He had lithotripsy to break up the stones and since has been feeling a lot better! My Dad developed Sarcoidosis within the last year or so that is visible on his skin and doesn't seem to affect his lungs. Very fortunate for that. They aren't sure if that is contributing to his condition or not - last I heard.

Today he got to go home. His levels haven't returned to normal yet but they are close and he will need to follow up with his doctors to make sure that everything is ok and that he knows how to prevent things like this in the future.
