Bed Buddies

Carter and Colten slept together in the same bed till they were 4 months old. I still might be slightly bitter that when the boys turned 4 months old Marty made the decision all by himself and me put the boys in their own room and in their own bed. I was not prepared for that. Just one night he decided it was time and gave me no warning to mentally prepare. It was a tough night for me. So yes, I might still be slightly bitter :) haha. Anyway since that night the boys have slept in the same room but in their own beds. Until a few weeks ago. Sorry!! I'm doing some major make up posts here :). The boys went to sleep like usual. No excess crying or any weird sounds. We had just taken their binki's away  completely so they might have needed some extra brotherly love for comfort? They are officially binki free!! It only took us about 4-5 nights of them (mostly Carter) asking for it.  One night I went in to check on them like I always do before I go to bed only to find Colt's bed empty.. I panicked for a second. That's every Mother's nightmare. To find out your children have been kidnapped!! I quickly looked to Carter's bed only to realize that Colt had climbed into bed with Carter. It went from a potentially extremely frightening moment to a very happy and treasured one. I ran to get Marty it was so cute and I told him "hurry come look at the boys!!" I think my excitement worried him a little because he didn't ask why he just came. I told him to look in Colt's bed first and I think he thought the same thing I thought. I could tell he was relieved when he saw two little bodies in bed together. We just had to capture them sleeping together after being laid down separately. Such a cute memory for us. They truly are best friends.
